Highlights from one of my vegan cooking workshops demonstrating cost effective, easy and innovative ways of incorporating healthy organic foods in your diet.
Every Wednesday evening in Holland Park, leading up to September I will be running a series of cooking demonstrations for families and individuals promoting healthy innovative dishes prepared with 100% organic ingredients.
These workshops not only demonstrate great tasting foods but also show you how to cook with organic food on a budget.
The workshops are the born from previously having run a three month holistic workshop programme under my project 'Urban Vitality and Wellbeing' funded by the Community Chest Fund part of a Big Local Program for local residents.
In the first part of the workshop I talk about the nutritional content and health benefits of the ingredients that will be used in each dish. Throughout the demonstration there will be some participation from attendees and children can play there part in getting hands on with prepping, blending and mixing etc.
Throughout the demonstrations I talk about the benefits of the various foods whilst showing you how to bring them together to create delicious nutritious dishes for you, friends and family.
My main passion is growing organic fruit and vegetables where I volunteered my time on a 12 acre farm near the River Lea before qualifying to grow food and then went on to take further training supporting others with additional needs and those experiencing social exclusion to grow food on community growing projects. This developed to further volunteering in my local community where I grow food with other local residents.
With careful nutritional research, learning to grow organic food and experiencing the power of healing foods I share my skills, knowledge and experience with others seeking to make healthier lifestyle changes and reach out to people through food education and lead them on a journey encompassing the holistic approach nature's way to vitality and wellbeing.
