1 slice of spelt bread (white or wholewheat) 1 dessert spoon of coconut oil 1/3 teaspoon of cayenne pepper 1/3 teaspoon of Himalayan pink salt (or sea salt) 1/3 teaspoon of dried basil
Brush the oil onto a frying pan, and heat oil on a medium heat. Season the heated oil with cayenne pepper and salt.
Add the slice of bread in the pan of heated/seasoned oil and brown until golden. Turn the bread over in the pan and brown on the other side.
Place toasted bread on a plate and a pinch (to taste) of dried basil.
Tip: crumble the herb between your fingers whilst sprinkling the herb over your toast, creating a dusting of basil herbs, to release the basil aroma and flavour which then melts into your toast nicely!
