You may have heard the term; 'autoimmune disease' and that is the main cause of eczema --There is an immune abnormality and in order to address that, we need to boost the immune system by cleaning the gut.
Cleaning the gut creates a healthy immune system and takes away the symptoms of dry skin, itching, soreness and particularly the inflammation. This can be achieved if you're eating anti-inflammatory foods i.e. plant-based whole foods like dark leafy greens and vegetables.
There are certain food sensitivities and allergies to avoid as not all foods are good for all.
We need to look at the common food triggers, such as soy, dairy, eggs, and wheat.
We try to eliminate those using a step-by-step elimination process taking out just one at a time for a period of 2 weeks, and then introducing it back into the diet slowly on the 13th or 14th day where you would have a little bit in the morning, the afternoon and again at your final mealtime. We then monitor your experience over a 24-48 hour period to see how your body is going to react.
So, in conclusion, eczema is connected to a gut that has an autoimmune disease. Eczema is not a disease in itself.
