Well, just like our bodies need nourishing from the outside just like on the inside. Our skin is the largest living organ on our bodies. So we need to take care of it and we need to protect it. A natural SPF is grape seed oil, which you can mix as a natural formulation with your emollient and use daily. My go-to is coconut oil and Shea butter, which I combine.
We need a skincare routine in order to stop the skin from over-drying and I tend to use things like thyme water as a cleanser, which doesn't dry out the skin at all. It's great for sensitive skin, for psoriasis, and for eczema as well.
As I mentioned at the start of the article, it's important to have a skincare routine because our skin needs to be nourished just as much as we need to nourish ourselves from the inside. A great reason for this is to eliminate dry, fine lines and prevent problems later on in life where we have to correct the skin condition after the fact. We're balancing the skin's pH level as well so that we're not only protecting it, but we're creating conditions so that our skin is smooth, it's glowing and we don't have any irritations or breakouts.
